Meet the instructor

Scott Savage

Scott Savage is the founder and CEO of Savage Training Group. While serving at the Santa Clara Police Department in California, Scott and the department’s training unit set about transforming their in-service training from “block and silo” mandatory training days to an interleaved, scenario-based training program that increased officer performance in the field. Now Scott shares exactly how they did it in our Effective Police Training Course. In 2023, Scott retired with 24 years of experience as an officer and sergeant in Northern California. His previous assignments include SWAT, Team Leader on a Crisis Negotiation Team, and full-time assignment to a terrorism/intelligence task force. Scott is a nationally certified instructor through IADLEST and a graduate of FEMA’s Master Exercise Practitioner Program and is the Chief Learning Officer with The Briefing Room.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to watch all the videos in one sitting?

No, the videos are on a drip-feed system, meaning one video is sent to you once a week. After you receive all the videos you will then have access to watch of of them anytime you like.  

How long are the videos?

The videos are each just a few minutes long and the total length of the all the vidoes combined is approximately 22 minutes.

What is the cost to access the videos?

The cost to access the videos is $99 but students who complete our Effective Police Training course receive access for free. I haven’t attended the Effective Police Training course. Can I still access the videos?

Yes. While this video series was designed for students who have already attended the course, you are welcome to enroll even if you haven’t.


Will I receive POST credit by attending this on-demand course?
